Our idea about mentoring program speeds and seems to us rather successful. Some days ago we were at the KPMG building where Dasha Solovyova (Flex’94) – one of the mentoring program leader conducted a very interesting training about presentation skills for us. Unfortunately there were not that many people, though there was a very nice atmosphere for learning new skills, that Dasha tried to teach us.
Nowadays it’s very important to be able to present yourself decently. And it’s a gift if you can do it properly. If not there is always an opportunity to learn how to do that. It’s interesting that people can read 80 % of information without words. And while presenting you should always remember about several things: keep eye contact, open and broad gestures up to the waist, movements with purpose, remember about the pauses, control the volume of your voice, dress code of cause, as for the language , you should follow the KIS rule – keep it simple and do everything with enthusiasm!!! First it seems like – “How can I combine and do all that things simultaneously?” But as it turned out everything is not that difficult as we thought. The main thing is to prepare and to know what are you going to talk about and to whom. And ofcaurse the more energy you put into your presentation the better result and feedback you’ll get! Funny was that at the end of the training after Dasha explained us everything, she made a quick quiz for us – something like what is the order for the preparing to presentation. And guess what? – nobody did it correctly! It means that even in spite of the fact that there are a lot of experienced people there is always some place to learn something new and to use it in your life! We all were impressed by that meeting and thanked Dasha for the brilliant training. May be in the future she’ll conduct one more training for those who hadn’t got a chance to come that day. So we are full of expectations…
